These earrings, with their deep blue and black hues contrasting against a milky backdrop, evoke the timeless sorrow often depicted in "Gol-o-Morgh" paintings )Flower and bird painting, a form of traditional Persian art). The solitary nightingale, singing a mournful melody for a beautiful and elusive rose, mirrors the profound exploration of love found in Persian literature and art. Love, a deeply spiritual experience, is often intertwined with separation and melancholy.
The eight-pointed star encasing the bird, along with the small blue star adorning the earring, pays homage to the ceramic and tile artistry of the Seljuk and Ilkhanid eras. These designs, though not as overtly complex or abstract as later periods, were nevertheless sophisticated and often inspired by the myths and daily lives of the people.
The image of the ‘Bluebrid’, created by an unknown contemporary artist, has been reimagined as an earring by Studio Toghchi in collaboration with Shirazi artist Sareh Ansari.
